Another Freshness Vegeburger

Freshness burger has launched their second veggie burger (from Oct 10). Now you can finally get Portabello mushroom in Japan, the vegetarian menu item so common in the states and abroad.
It’s flavored with balsamic wine sauce, sandwiched with “fresh” lettuce, tomato and grilled onion on a sesame bun.
Only 420 yen and apparently the lowest calorie yet on their burger menu, 282 kcal.
Finally the green fast food joint lives up to its name!

Vegans be careful, neither option can be made dairy free.
There is now a third option – a bean burger.
I have tried all three.
The mushroom variety didn’t work for me. I don’t feel a single large mushroom (maybe it was stuffed? I forget) has enough flavor to carry the whole hamburger bun, lettuce and tomato setup.
The tofu variety (a hot slice of tofu with sauce) is very good indeed.I have had this several times with a side order of onion rings.
The new bean burger variety is even better – a fantastic burger.
My friend ordered a matcha latte yesterday and he said it was really good.

Brown-rice breakfast
An interesting idea for leftover brown rice, from the Happy Herbivore recipe site.
