Oyaki in Futako Tamagawa

Oyaki in Futako Tamagawa

From now until Wednesday (13th Jan), the basement of Takashima in Futako Tamagawa has a temporary stand selling Nagano’s vegetarian Irohado oyaki. These are buckwheat rolls filled with Nagano veggies or beans, usually flavoured with miso.

There are nine varieties to choose from, but the tastiest and most popular is the ‘yasai mix’ roll, pictured here. There’s also pumpkin, potato, green veggies, anko, shimeji, leek and miso, and more.

If you can’t make it to Futako Tamagawa by Wednesday, you can order them online, shipped frozen.

They have these in Tachikawa (chuo line) as well. I tried the mix yasai, miso, anko, green veggies and loved them all!
