Omotesando Ghungroo

Omotesando Ghungroo
Last week I tried out Ghungroo, an Indian restaurant in Omotesando which I actually used to visit often, before they renovated last year.
It used to be a casual nothing-too-special kind of  place, with an okay lunch deal where naan, rice, curry was all you can eat for 1000 yen.
The new establishment is right across from the old one, and you’d be shocked if you knew Ghungroo before. It’s transformed into a posh and stylish looking restaurant—with elegant furnishings where wine bottles line the walls. Lunch time was a good deal: 980 yen for naan or rice with curry and salad with chai or coffee. I went for the Indian wine too–half a bottle for only 500 yen. They’re awfully veg-friendly serving a “vegetarian plate” as well, which includes Chapati, rice, two veg curries, salad and drink for  1080 yen.
